Founded in 1974, Labor's Community Service Agency is a non-profit housing counseling agency. Based in Phoenix, Ariz., the organization was formed by the association of the United Way and AFL-CIO. It hosts numerous programs, including the foreclosure intervention program, unemployment mortgage assistance program and the securing help in family transportation (SHIFT) program. Additionally, Labor's Community Service Agency renders transitional housing, home rehabilitation and youth build job training services to its customers. It is Housing and Urban Developments (HUD) certified.
