Langenstein s is a family-owned, full-service supermarket that operates two stores in New Orleans and Metairie, La. It was founded in 1922 by Michael Langenstein and his two sons, George and Richard, as a small corner grocery store in uptown New Orleans. Langenstein s features deli, seafood, floral, bakery, catering and produce departments. It offers a complete line of homemade New Orleans cooked specialties, such as crawfish etouffe and bisque, seafood gumbo, grillades, muffelattas, red beans and rice. Langenstein s provides catering services for formal and informal gatherings. It maintains an extensive catering menu that includes a variety of starters, trays, dips, meat, casseroles, soups, dressings, side dishes and pies.
