GI Laser Endoscopy The Laser Treatment Center is an ambulatory surgical center with special emphasis on laser therapy, GI endoscopy and other diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. LTC has been providing services to the local medical community since 1985 when it was founded by Richard M. Dwyer, M. D. We are approved by Medi -care and essentially all major insurance companies. LTC uses the most modern methodologies available, which are implemented and performed by experienced physicians. The Laser is a surgical instrument which has become a vital tool for the medical profession. It is an intense form of light whose energy can be directed to heal and remove tissue. For some illnesses the laser is less traumatic and produces a better result than techniques which use the scalpel or snare. Lasers were first introduced to medicine in the 1960s. Scientific advances have brought the laser into world-wide use in present day specialties such as urology, gastrointestinal medicine, gynecology, dermatology to name a few.
