Our divorce attorneys have over 40 years of combined legal experience handling difficult and complex Washington State family law cases. If there is one thing that we have learned over the years, it’s that no two cases are alike.
When many of our divorce and family clients first contact our offices, they feel like the roof is caving in on them. Few things in life are as stressful and emotionally draining as going through a Washington State divorce or family law crisis. Many cases often take up to a year or longer to complete.
During this initial phase, Temporary Orders are often entered. These Temporary Orders determine issues such as primary custody, visitation, property use, as well as debt and asset allocation. If you and your spouse are unable to agree on these issues, they will be presented to Commissioner who will review the evidence and then enter orders.
In many cases, these orders remain in place throughout the time that your divorce is pending before the court. In some cases, however, the Temporary Orders need to be modified due to changed circumstances, including what is in the best interests of the children.
