The Legal Aid Society provides direct legal assistance to low-income families and individuals through a network of neighborhood and court-based offices and specialized projects and programs. The society has civil and criminal practices, juvenile services and law reform departments. Through its civil practice segment, The Legal Aid Society offers assistance and support services to more than 30,000 client cases annually. The society serves senior citizens, survivors of domestic violence, immigrants, low-wage workers, people living with infected diseases, disabled adults and children, and imminently homeless children and adults. It offers community support by delivering voluntary representation services in matters related to civil, criminal and juvenile rights.
