Founded in 1949, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is one of the world's largest voluntary health agencies dedicated to blood cancer research, education and patient services. Located in Chicago, Ill., it has centers throughout the United States and Canada. The organization offers the most comprehensive array of services to patients and families affected by blood cancer. This is available in the categories of financial support, patient education programs and blood cancer discussion boards, among others. It also operates the Information Resource Center (IRC) that provides accurate, up-to-date, disease-related information and referral services. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research centers around the world.
