Established in 1949 as the Robert Roesler de Villiers Foundation, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is one of the leading voluntary health care organizations in the United States. It supports blood cancer research, education and patient related services. The organization also provides the public, families and health professionals with information and referral services regarding leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin s disease and myeloma. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society distributes educational booklets, brochures and videos. It also offers financial assistance, as well as maintains several support groups for children, adults and families. The organization conducts seminars, workshops, meetings, webcasts and teleconferences for health care professionals. Headquartered in White Plains, N.Y., the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society maintains more than 65 office locations in the United States and Canada and maintains a presence in Alexandria, Va.
