Founded in 1953, Liberty Lines Transit is one of the largest privately owned transportation companies in New York. The company provides local bus transportation services throughout Westchester County, N.Y. It employs approximately 600 union and over 140 nonunion employees, including bus operators, mechanics, building and vehicle cleaners, and management and clerical personnel. Liberty Lines Transit operates a fleet of more than 300 vehicles, including passenger vans and articulated and hybrid buses. The company offers services on over 55 routes, transports over 30 million passengers and covers approximately 10 million miles. It has a partnership with the Westchester County Department of Transportation.
