Headquartered in Los Angeles, Mary Lind Foundation is a nonprofit organization that has been providing residential substance abuse recovery services to homeless men and women throughout Southern California for more than 50 years. Founded in 1949, the organization offers various recovery programs that include adult education and vocational guidance, which serves more than 600 men and women each year. Its vocational guidance program includes employment readiness assessment, and functional literacy and interpersonal skills testing. Additionally, individuals are trained and educated in developing employment resources, job search strategies, resume preparation, interviewing techniques and attire, employment application completion, phone etiquette, and interview follow-up procedures. The foundation also operates recovery homes and sober-living houses throughout Los Angeles.
