Established in 1957, Lineweaver Elementary School is a part of the Tucson Unified School District, which offers educational opportunities for students through elementary, middle and high schools. Lineweaver Elementary School serves more than 450 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school offers special education programs for students with disabilities. It conducts gifted and talented education classes and various after-school programs. The school provides reading, writing, math and social studies classes. It operates chess, music and dance clubs and organizes science fairs and sports tournaments.
