Literacy Partners is a New York City based adult and family literacy organization serving adults and parents. It is a nonprofit organization that teaches adults to read, write and do mathematics in teacher-led, tutorial and family literacy programs staffed by volunteers and professionals. Its family literacy program includes parent and child reading workshops and instruction materials for effective parenting. The program s core components include English language instruction, adult basic education, parenting skills, literature, the arts, science, social studies and computer instruction. It teaches English as a second language to the parents of children in Head Start programs. Its adult tutorial program serves students with learning disabilities.
