Louie's Pizza & Italian Restaurant was born out of necessity in 1965. Louie Mallane, the founder and proprietor, used his Italian heritage and previous restaurant experience to fill the pizza niche in the small resort area of Ketchum, Idaho. With a bank loan of $150, Mallane purchased flour, mushrooms, napkins and a few other necessary items. He then rented the kitchen of Nedder's Bar and set up shop, making as many as 20 pizzas a day. The restaurant now maintains two locations. The restaurant offers a variety of dining options, including appetizers, salads, calzones, specialty grilled dishes, seafood, family dishes for groups of three or more, pasta, and small, medium, large and family size pizzas. Louie's Pizza & Italian Restaurant maintains a location in Meridian, Idaho.
