Louisiana Economic Development is responsible for providing leadership, policy and programs to create a better business climate in Louisiana. The department works under the state government of Louisiana. It has been accredited by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) as the Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO). Louisiana Economic Development s legal division specializes in the preparation, negotiation and review of contracts related to department s programs and agreements. The department s communication and marketing division is responsible for overseeing and managing its brand image and building awareness of economic development opportunities in the state. Louisiana Economic Development also maintains the Office of Management and Finance, which comprises of various divisions, including purchasing, human resources, fiscal services and information systems.
