MacPhail Center for Music, established in 1907, is an independent nonprofit organization offering music education to more than 7,200 students throughout the United States. It provides lessons in more than 35 instruments and a variety of musical styles like jazz, classical, pop, folk and world music. The programs offered by the center include Suzuki Talent Education and early childhood arts programs and ensembles. It has a music therapy department that offers music education and therapy to patients suffering from physical and developmental disabilities. The center also provides fellowship opportunities and financial aid to students and has partnerships with various schools and arts organizations. MacPhail Center for Music is a member of the National Guild of Community Schools for the Arts and is located in Minneapolis
