Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority, established in 1945, is a nonprofit public housing agency. It provides affordable housing opportunities to low-income families, senior citizens and patients with disabilities throughout New Hampshire. The agency owns and manages more than 1,200 public housing apartments and provides housing subsidies to nearly 1,800 households. The agency undertakes school child care programs, teen educational and recreational activities, adult employment and vocational services and community outreach programs. It also provides social activities to senior citizens and support services that include meal planning and preparation, housekeeping, maintenance and medication management.
