Marcolin USA is a subsidiary of Marcolin S.p.A, which was opened in 1982. The distribution company is located in Scottsdale, Ariz. The origins of Marcolin S.p.A. date back to 1961, the year in which Giovanni Marcolin Coffen started production at his Artisan workshop specializing in frames for glasses in rolled gold. More than 6 million items are produced annually, split between optical frames and sunglasses made in Italy and ski-masks and sports eyewear produced in France. Production is organized on the basis of the three types of materials used: metal, pantographed acetate and injection-molded plastic, with a number of processing stages that varies for each frame from 40 to 90. Marcolin products are marketed in more than 50,000 sales outlets spread throughout 80 countries. In foreign markets, Marcolin operates using 16 distribution companies 12 of which are in Europe and one in Hong Kong, Brazil, Japan and the United States.
