Mellow Mushroom is a chain of food outlets. It was founded in Atlanta in the early 1970s by two Georgia Tech students, who were later joined by a University of Georgia student. The chain s outlets offer a range of appetizers that includes cheese breads, soups, chips, calzones and pretzels. Its outlets also offer a variety of salads that includes spinach, tossed, chicken Caesar, Greek and field green varieties. Additionally, the chain s outlets provide a variety of entr es that includes grilled tofu, turkey breasts, meatballs and grilled Portobello mushrooms. The chain s outlets also offer veggie, house pesto, jerk chicken, Hawaiian and barbecue chicken pizzas. Mellow Mushroom maintains a location in Chattanooga, Tenn.
