Memorial Rehabilitation Services provides restoration of function in patients with acute or chronic pain, musculoskeletal disorders or those who have experienced catastrophic events such as stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, or an accident which limits the use of arms, legs, speech or cognitive functions.
Since 1987, the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility of Memorial Hospital has provided a medical/physical inpatient rehabilitation program on the Gulf Coast. This is a unique level of service provided to insure the people in this community have rehab services available close to home when they are needed.
Team members and services include the patient and caregiver, the physician, rehab nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, therapeutic recreation services, social worker, care coordinator, psychology and neuropsychology, dietician, chaplain, respiratory and other services as indicated by need.
