Founded in 1884, the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a medical facility that provides a variety of inpatient and outpatient services throughout the Tri-State. It is one of the largest, private cancer centers in the world. The center is engaged in the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer through patient care, research and education. The Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center specializes in the areas of adhesion, protein targeting, tumor immunology, immunotherapy, transplantation biology, molecular pathology, and cell proliferation and differentiation. It is comprised of Sloan-Kettering Institute and Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases.
