Methodist Rehabilitation Center is one of the leading providers of medical services in the United States. Operational for more than 30 years, the center specializes in medical rehabilitation programs for people with spinal cord and brain injuries, stroke and other neurological and orthopedic disorders. A more than 150-bed acute care facility, it serves more than 10,000 patients annually. Located in Jackson, Miss., it has been designated as a Traumatic Brain Injury Model System by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research. The center has been approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. It provides a wide variety of programs, such as spinal cord, stroke, outpatient rehabilitation, orthopedic, neurological, behavioral health, and industrial rehabilitation services. Additionally, Methodist Rehabilitation Center offers therapeutic recreation through several sports, including quad rugby, rock climbing, scuba diving, wheelchair racing, sled hockey, and water and snow skiing.
