Minyard Food Stores was established in 1932 by a postal employee, A.W. "Eck" Minyard. After 72 years in business, the Minyard family sold Minyard Food Stores in 2004, to Acquisition Vehicle Texas II, a Texas-based investment company, which conducts business under the name Minyard Group. Minyard Food Stores currently operates 61 supermarkets, 36 pharmacies and 15 fuel stations under several banners, including Minyard, Sack n Save and Carnival Food Stores. Headquartered in Coppell, Texas, Minyard Food Stores has more than 5,000 employees. Its stores offer meat and seafood, fresh produce, groceries, gifts, pet supplies, flowers and plants, wines, and bakery and deli products, as well as feature pharmacy and photo processing services. Minyard Food Stores operates several stores in Dallas.
