Established in 1991, Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative provides power to more than 4,400 customers in Mountrail and Williams counties in northwestern North Dakota. Based in Williston, N.D., the company offers a plethora of services, including grain drying, free replacement of water heaters, electric heat insulation, air conditioning and energy resource conservation (ERC) loans. Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative owns and maintains nearly 2,900 miles of overhead line and 320 miles of underground line. The firm receives the power from Upper Missouri Generation & Transmission Cooperative, headquartered in Sidney, Montana.
