Founded in 1878, MSPCC, also known as the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, is a private, nonprofit organization that offers community-based services for children and families. It provides parent education, developmental screening and job training services. The organization offers guidance counseling and speech, physical and occupational therapy services. MSPCC provides nutrition, health care, and referral and advocacy services. Additionally, it offers adoption and foster care services, as well as organizes summer camps for children. The organization also provides day care and after-school services and offers opportunities for exercising and recreational activities. MSPCC provides mental health care services for the victims of domestic violence and drug and alcohol abuse. It maintains an office in Hyannis, Mass.
