Municipal Housing Authority for the city of Yonkers in New York provides decent, safe and sanitary housing for eligible families and promotes self-sufficiency and economic independence for its participants. Located in Yonkers, the housing authority has more than 15 developments with over 2,000 conventional public housing apartments throughout the city. Its Section 8 program has more than 1,800 apartments leased with over 700 private landlords. The authority s maintenance department serves more than 15 public housing sites located throughout the city. The department responds to over 50 service requests per day and offers after hours and emergency services. The municipal housing authority is open Monday through Friday.
