Founded in 1902, the YWCA of Greater Atlanta is a social welfare organization that offers a variety of programs for women and girls. Its transitional living program includes referral, health and child care, employment and educational services for homeless women. The organization provides a childhood education program that promotes the development of social and emotional skills of infants, toddlers and preschoolers. It also offers academic enrichment activities, community and nutrition services, and financial literacy and fitness programs. The organization provides the Empowering Youth Entertainment program for children between the ages of 13 and 19. It also operates the Academy of Women Achievers, which is a program that recognizes the professional and civic accomplishments of women in various fields. The YWCA of Greater Atlanta also offers TGI Tech and after-school programs. It maintains a presence in Atlanta.
