US Veterans Hospital is a part of the United States Department of Veteran Affairs. The organization was established as a Cabinet-level position in 1989. It offers a number of services, including disability compensation, pension, GI Bill, vocational rehabilitation, employment, survivor benefits, home loans, life insurance and traumatic injury insurance, among others. The organization runs more than 50 hospitals; medical centers; 350 outpatient, community, and outreach clinics; 126 nursing home care units and 35 domiciliaries. It has partnered with State Veterans Affairs Offices and Veterans Service Organizations.
