Services/Products
We sharpen all sorts of edges - knives, ice augers, scissors, garden tools, axes & hatchets, swords, and paper cutters, just to name a few. We give all of our returning customers a card that entitles them to a 20% discount on shop services. Many customers mail us in their knives to be sharpened. Typically mail-in orders are sharpened and returned the same day, and occasionally as late as the next day. Expedited return shipping is available, but as a matter of course we return orders with USPS Flat-Rate Priority shipping. As far as repairs, we do some of this and some of that. Minor broken knife tips are usually repaired at no charge when we sharpen your knife. We tune pocket clips, oil pivots, and make general adjustments for no charge, while you wait. More extensive repairs start around $5. Most minor repairs can be completed and ready for pick up the next day. Cleaning and auto spring replacements usually runs $10 to $20, including the price of the spring. Other parts may require additional wait times if the parts must be ordered. Minor orders can be completed and ready for pick up the next day. We modify many factory knives, and customs as well. There is not much we cannot do. It is difficult for us to lay out a pricing structure here since every knife is different, and people personalize them in such varied ways. We have included just a couple examples on the website of the kind of work we often do. We also included a starting price range for the simpler and more common work to help you get an idea of how much our shop work costs. If you want to do more than one mod at a time we offer a price break, you don't pay 100% for both services since the same shop time and processes are used across many of our mods. The same goes for multiple knives when regarding return shipping prices in most cases. Sheaths are custom made to the specific knife, we do not use a template. We have pre-made sheathes available in the shop if you need a generic sheath without wait. With a custom order the knife must be left here at the shop while the sheath is constructed. This ensures that every sheath has optimum fitment, durability, and fits the customers needs as closely as possible. We build a large assortment of custom Kydex sheaths here in the shop. Most sheaths run $25 to $60, complete with attachments. There are many options when considering a Kydex sheath. They can be tailored for their purpose and how you intend to carry it. For example inside-the-waistband sheaths will differ greatly from sheaths intended to be strapped to a pack. You can request a certain type of retention/release and carry position as well as many other factors. Leather sheaths are handmade by Don DeZarn. Many options are available, including leather tooling, decorative inset, double stitching, etc... Completion will times vary depending on Don's current workload, but within two weeks is a typical quote. Prices start at $45.
