Northside Neighborhood House

Established in 1924 as the North Chattanooga Community Center, Northside Neighborhood House offers community-based services for low-income individuals and families. It provides emergency services and assists with the utility bill payments, food procurement and medication management. The organization distributes Christmas gifts and food baskets, as well as delivers Easter and Thanksgiving packages for senior citizens. Northside Neighborhood House maintains a thrift store that offers clothing, household items and electronic equipment. Additionally, it provides educational services for children and offers homework assistance; classes in reading, mathematic and computers; and training related to social skills and self-esteem development. The organization also offers guidance counseling services, summer programs and recreational activities. Northside Neighborhood House is located in Chattanooga, Tenn.
