Dr. Nowitzky was born in North Carolina to a career military family and spent most of her youth in the Metro DC area. After heading north to New York for an undergraduate degree in Biology from Cornell University, she returned to Washington DC and worked as a medical assistant. She had always dreamed of attending medical school and with her familys encouragement she applied and was accepted to Georgetown University School of Medicine in DC. As her training progressed she found womens health issues especially fascinating. Dr. Nowitzky states Obstetrics is the only specialty in medicine where there is Joy. What a privilege to be such a unique part of a womans life, family and health over so many decades After completing her residency in 1991 she joined a private group practice and was on staff at Georgetown. In 1993 she moved her growing family back to North Carolina. They enjoyed the small town atmosphere until she closed her busy solo practice December 2006. She has moved to Corpus Christi to be closer to the rest of her family in Texas. Dr. Nowitzkys hobbies include cooking for her five children, gardening and exploring her new home town, Corpus Christi.
