Licensed by the Virginia Board of Nursing, the Nurse Aide Training Institute of Northern Virginia prepares students to take the Certified Nurse Aide Exam (C.N.A.).
The Nurse Aide Training Institute of Northern Virginia provides a 120 hour course that includes 40 hours in a clinical setting.
The program places a high emphasis on learning excellent communication skills and treating individuals with respect and dignity.
The program is based on the six principles of care: SAFETY, DIGNITY, INDEPENDENCE, COMMUNICATION, INFECTION CONTROL, AND PRIVACY.
The program will teach various procedures that include making valuable observations; effective communication; providing personal care and comfort; lending emotional support; ambulation and restorative care skills and taking and recording vital signs.
The program will include basic knowledge of health, ethics, medical terminology, medical science, body systems, diseases and state competencies.
