The NYU Medical Center, located in New York City, offers health care, biomedical research and medical education. Established more than 150 years ago, it offers advanced clinical programs in every medical specialty, including aging and dementia, arthritis and rheumatology, and breast, skin, and prostate cancer. It specialties include ear, nose and throat disorders; epilepsy; kidney and liver transplantation; minimally invasive cardiovascular surgery; neurology and neurosurgery; reconstructive and plastic surgeries; and stroke. The medical center also includes the NYU School of Medicine and the three hospitals of the NYU Hospitals Center. It also houses the NYU Cancer Institute, the NYU Center for AIDS Research and the NYU Child Study Center.
