Oak Mountain High School, administered by Shelby County Schools, serves more than 1,700 students in grades 9 through 12. Established in 1999, the school s curriculum includes English, math, science, social studies, and physical and health education. It conducts classes in Latin, French, Spanish and German. The school s campus is spread over an area of more than 200,000 square feet and houses an advanced auditorium and science and computer labs. Oak Mountain High School maintains sports facilities, such as a gymnasium, baseball and softball stadiums and soccer and band practice fields. It also offers instruction in family and consumer science and computer, business and marketing education. The school coordinates a range of extracurricular activities, including choir, band, art, drama and photography. Oak Mountain High School additionally offers membership opportunities in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
