Ocala Heart & Vascular Institute

Ocala Heart Institute is an association of invasive and interventional cardiologists, cardiovascular anesthesiologists, and cardiothoracic, thoracic and vascular surgeons and provides care for cardiac, thoracic and vascular patients. The institute s services include cardiac transplantations, cardiac and interventional catheterization, surgeries, anesthesia, and interventional and invasive cardiology. It offers open heart surgery and interventional cardiology programs. The institute also offers a variety of patient education programs that offer information on various topics, such as aortic aneurisms, cardiac cauterization, and carotid artery and peripheral vascular diseases. Its Heart for the World Foundation provides education, training and indigent medical care in various countries. Its surgical teams travel to Mongolia, Albania, India, North Korea and China to train doctors and perform open heart procedures. The heart institute is located in Ocala, Fla., was founded in 1988 and is affiliated with the Munroe Regional Medical Center and Ocala Regional Medical Center.
