CODA is a nonprofit organization, based in Portland, Ore., helping individuals, families and the community to prevent and eliminate drug and alcohol misuse, abuse and addiction. Established in 1969, it is one of the largest in the Portland and southwest Washington area. Its services focus on substance abuse treatment, detoxification, methadone maintenance and detoxification, intensive care unit for men and women, family counseling, and aftercare. Its outpatient services include methadone treatment, detoxification services, prenatal services, alcohol and drug evaluation and on-site child care services. CODA also offers residential programs for men and women tailored to specific requirements. In addition to self-payments, it accepts payments through Medicare and Medicaid, private health insurance and military insurance.
