Founded in 1972, the College of Osteopathic Medicine is a part of Oklahoma State University, which is located in Tulsa, Okla. The college offers masters and doctoral programs in a range of subjects, including dermatology, neurology, psychiatry, anesthesiology and gastroenterology. Its curriculum includes a variety of topics, such as histology, obstetrics, gynecology, medical microbiology, basic neuroanatomy, osteopathic manual medicine, and gross and developmental anatomy. The medical institute also offers graduate programs in biomedical and forensic sciences. Its additional courses include pathology, physiology, surgery, family medicine and behavioral science. The college operates a department, Osteopathic Medical Education Consortium of Oklahoma, which specializes in more than 15 residency programs and over 5 fellowship programs.
