Onondaga Community Living, also known as OCL, is located in Syracuse, N.Y. It provides services to adults with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities within the city and nearby communities. The organization was started in 1987 to empower and individually support people with developmental disabilities in efforts to live full lives as integral respected members of their communities. Onondaga Community Living offers a variety of vocational services, such as personalized volunteer opportunities, paid positions and business development. It has a team of housemates who are typical members of the community who enter into a life-sharing situation with a person with a disability. The organization also provides a range of residential services.
