The Office of the District Attorney of Onandaga County, N.Y., is responsible for prosecuting all crimes within the county. It also processes applications to amend traffic infractions. In addition, the office provides several community programs that are designed to provide crime abatement through education and resources. The programs that are undertaken by the office are designed to provide protection to victims of domestic abuse and stalking; educate children about the criminal justice system, laws, rules and consequences; provide drug rehabilitation; protect students from violence in schools; and provide aid to victims and witnesses of crimes. The Office of the District Attorney is headquartered in Syracuse, N.Y.
