OptiCare Eye Health Centers is one of the largest eye care companies in New England. OptiCare contracts with insurers, employer groups, managed care plans, HMOs and other third-party payers to manage claims payment administration of eye health benefits for contracting parties in eight states and provide insurance coverage relating to certain eye care products and services. The company sells retail optical products to consumers and owns and/or operates integrated eye health centers, professional optometric practices and surgical facilities. OptiCare has headquarters in Waterbury, Conn., and more than 20 locations throughout Connecticut. OptiCare has medical facilities in each location, three of which house outpatient surgical centers, and 17 optical retail stores.
