Pacific Lutheran University was founded in 1890 by a group of Norwegian Lutherans from the Puget Sound region. Located in Tacoma, Wash., it is a comprehensive university with an enrollment of more than 3,500 students. The university offers a range of graduate and undergraduate programs in majors, such as business, mathematics, computer science, art, history, English, accounting, history and science. It also provides archeology and anthropology labs, language resource center, and physics and computer centers. Pacific Lutheran University a member of the Associated New American Colleges and is accredited by Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. It is a university of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
