Daniel R. Theesfeld, M.D., earned his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School after obtaining his undergraduate degree from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri. He continued his medical studies at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, in General Surgery under the direction of Michael DeBakey, M.D. before completing his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Texas Galveston. This was followed by a fellowship in Pain Management with Longview Pain Care Association in Longview, Texas.
Dr. Theesfeld began his medical career in Nacogdoches in July of 1996, as a staff anesthesiologist and then established The Pain Management Center. Through the Center, Dr. Theesfeld has combined diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitative and behavioral services to offer a unique, comprehensive approach to pain management.
Dr. Theesfeld's pain management experience includes the most advanced pain control techniques and procedures. Within his in-office procedure room, he performs a variety of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including intrathecal catheter implants, epidural injections, epiduroscopy, selective nerve root blocks, cryoneurotomy, discography, intradiscal electrothermoplasty, and, most recently, percutaneous laser discectomy (LASE).
