The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, founded in 1805, is an art museum and school. It features the work of modern and contemporary American artists, such as Jennifer Bartlett, Richard Diebenkorn, Nancy Graves, Alex Katz, Philip Pearlstein, Robert Motherwell, Raymond Saunders and Frank Stella. The academy offers various educational programs, including certificates, post baccalaureate and master of fine arts. It also offers continuing public education that includes courses for adults, high school studio programs, lectures and seminars. Its library provides more than 15,000 books, over 20,000 slides and nearly 75 periodicals. The academy also operates a store that offers a wide variety of drawing, sculpture and printmaking supplies.
