People Places is a nonprofit child welfare agency that serves children who have been removed from their homes. It offers supported adoption, independent living assistance, and individual and group counseling services. The agency provides technical assistance, training and program materials for sister agencies throughout North America. People Places offers a variety of therapeutic and educational services. It staffs a psychologist, professional counselors and clinical social workers who serve emotionally disturbed children and youth. Additionally, the agency has expertise in the treatment of attention-deficit disorders and physical and sexual abuse issues. Headquartered in Staunton, Va., People Places also maintains locations in Charlottesville and Harrisonburg, Va.
