Citizens for Better Judges was organized in 1983, in an effort to maintain and improve the quality of the judiciary by promoting the election of only the most qualified judicial candidates. It consists of a 27-member steering committee that includes lawyers who are involved in litigation practice but concentrate in different fields of law and a Citizens Review Board, which consists of a cross-section of community-minded citizens with diverse occupations and backgrounds. Additionally, the organization has an advisory board made up of the past chairs of Citizens for Better Judges. It maintains a location in Louisville, Ky.
