The Phoenix Parks District Office, located on West Encanto Boulevard in Phoenix, is the Special Operations Division of the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Phoenix. The office is responsible for the maintenance of Papago Park, an 1,100 acre park located at the junction of Galvin Parkway and VanBuren Street in southeast Phoenix. It features golf, a zoo, trails and a baseball facility. The Papago baseball facility is home to the Oakland Athletics baseball club during spring training. Staff at the park includes a park manager, a parks foreman, three groundskeepers and nine park rangers. The facilities that are actually part of the park and are maintained by staff include an orienteering course, archery range, three fishing lagoons, amphitheater, bike paths, trails, picnic shelters and lookout features.
