Founded in 1863 by the citizens of the citizens of the East Bay, Mountain View Cemetery is a historic nonprofit cemetery located in Oakland, Calif. The cemetery is used as a resting place of famous figures and ordinary people. It offers a wide range of interment options, including traditional, double-depth, side-by-side, urn gardens and partial graves. Mountain View Cemetery comprises of a chapel, a columbarium, mausoleums and a crematorium. In addition, the cemetery has added two new facilities: Golden Lotus Mountain and Flowering Pear Garden.
