In 1928, George R. Pierce decided to begin selling used cars and rented the west half of a building located at 30th and Montana Avenue in Billings, Mont., where the original Pierce Flooring store would eventually be located. Pierce Flooring & Design operates throughout Montana in Billings, Bozeman, Butte, Missoula and Great Falls. There are also outlet stores: the Carpet Mill Outlet in Bozeman, Pierce Carpet Mill Outlet in Butte, and The Carpet Barn in Billings. In addition to the flooring business, Ron Pierce operates a manufactured homes, leasing and recreational vehicles business in Billings. The business is recognized as one of the top 40 retailers in the United States.
