Dr. Piper was born in Toledo, Ohio; she graduated Cum Laude from Toledo University. She received her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. She was inducted into the highly regarded Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and also received the American Medical Women's Association's Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation for Scholastic Excellence. In 1991, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, located in Nashville, TN. and became board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1993. She was in the nursing profession prior to attending medical school. Dr. Sharon M. Piper is a Board Certified OB/Gyn Physician in an all female private practice group that she started.
