Founded in 1956, Plantersville Elementary School enrolls students in grades one through seven. The school provides art, music, Spanish and physical education classes to more than 150 students. It includes a science laboratory and child development rooms. Plantersville Elementary School also offers special education programs for gifted and talented students. The school has a library and media center that includes a range of books, periodicals and magazines. Additionally, it provides guidance counseling services. The school s staff includes a secretary, media specialist, counselor, nurse, psychologist and speech therapist. It also operates a school improvement council. Located in Georgetown, S.C., Plantersville Elementary School is governed by the Georgetown County School District, which also operates several elementary, middle and high schools.
