Based in San Diego, Point Loma Nazarene University has been operational for more than 100 years. Founded by Phineas Bresee, it is one of the oldest Christian universities in the United States. Approved by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, it is the official university of the Southwest Educational Region of the Church of the Nazarene. In addition to bachelor s and master s degree programs in arts and sciences, the university offers majors, minors and secondary education certification in more than 100 academic disciplines. It cocurricular program includes more than 20 intercollegiate athletic, outreach and music ministry teams, club and recreational sports, short-term missions, service learning, Bible studies and discipleship groups, and experiential learning opportunities.
