Ponderosa Steakhouse, located on International Drive in Orlando, Fla., is one of more than 350 Ponderosa restaurants in the United States. Ponderosas are located primarily in the Midwest, Northeast and Florida. The restaurant s menu offerings include steak, chicken, seafood, burgers, appetizers, buffet selections and beverages. It also offers take-out service, a kids menu and a senior menu. Ponderosa Steakhouses are operated by Metromedia Restaurant Group, which has headquarters in Plano, Texas. Metromedia also operates Bonanza Steakhouses, Bennigan s Grill & Tavern s and Steak and Ale restaurants. Approximately 295 of the Ponderosa Steakhouses operate under a franchise agreement from Metromedia. The restaurant concept was established in 1965 in Kokomo, Ind.
